🏢 Apartment Search

Since I’ve been looking for apartments to move into, I figured I’d share an apartment hunting database in Notion. I’ve been using this to help me gather information about potential apartments and their Amenities, Expenses, Nearby Transit Access, etc. Here is how I made the simple setup, the properties included, and how to use the template for your own apartment hunting needs.

The buildings DatabAse

This database is designed to capture apartment buildings and general info about them including location, amenities, expenses, fees, etc.

This database has three different views:

  • Amenities: a gallery view to check off amenity availability

  • Fees: a table view to compare fees and expenses

  • Contact: a list view to keep track of contact information

THe Apartments Database

This database has two different views:

  • Amenities: a table view to track basic info like number of beds and bath, closets, balcony, backyard, etc.

  • Expenses: a table view to compare rent, total monthly expenses, and 1st month expense with down payment.

Compare And Locate Minimum Costs

At the bottom of each database view that displays costs and fees, I calculate the Minimum amount for each property using the calculate feature.

Notion can be a great tool to compare and contrast options for anything including a shopping wishlist, home hunting, car purchases and more.
